I would highly recommend KnN Migration Advisors for anyone looking for migrating to Australia. Nidhi's expertise in the field is remarkable, she understands your needs and provides the tailored guidance based on your requirement. Engaging them for my mother’s visa was the best decision I took and they handled the entire process very smoothly. I was stressed as my mother was going to travel back but Nidhi took up the case on high priority to ensure application is completed promptly and my mother’s travel plan is also not impacted. They are my go-to for any new migration needs. Thank you KnN team, for your exceptional support and guidance.

I have consulted Nidhi for a number of visa and citizenship related matters and I have been extremely impressed by her knowledge and professionalism. She helped me sort out my parents’ visa, my wife’s RRV and my family’s India OCI applications. I would recommend her to anyone looking for personalised guidance to their visa related matters.

    Eligibility and Requirements

To be eligible for a Parent Visa, applicants must meet the following criteria:

✓ Sponsorship: Be sponsored by their child, who must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or eligible New Zealand citizen.

✓ Balance of Family Test: Have at least half of their children living permanently in Australia or more children living in Australia than any other single country.

✓Health and Character: Meet health and character requirements as specified by Australian immigration authorities.

    Types of Parent Visa

You may be able to apply for one of five different types of parent visas, depending on your specific situation. All of them aim to make it possible for the parent of an eligible New Zealand citizen, an Australian citizen, or an Australian permanent resident to go to and dwell in Australia for a set amount of time, or even permanently.

    Aged Parent Visa
    (804)

    Permanent visa for aged parents

If you are 67 years of age or older and currently residing in Australia, you may be eligible for the Aged Parent visa subclass 804. Although there is not a large department charge to pay, the processing timeframes are significantly lengthier. The bearer of this visa may be able to obtain further advantages including permanent residency.

    Contributory Aged Parent Visa (884/864)

Temporary and permanent visas for older parents

There are two sorts of visas available for the contributing aged parent program: temporary and permanent. Those over 67 who want to reconnect with their family in Australia are the ideal candidates. The subclass 884 and 864 visas are significantly more expensive than other visa categories, much as the subclass 804/103 visas.

    Offshore Parent Visa (103)

    Permanent visa for particular parents

The Parent visa subclass 103 may provide you the opportunity to live and work in Australia as a permanent resident while also enabling you to remain here permanently with your kids. Because there is no minimum age limit, it appeals to a lot of people who desire to relocate to Australia.

    Offshore Contributory Parent Visa (173/143)

Temporary and Permanent visa for particular parents

This visa is different from others in that it requires a significantly higher fee and does not need applicants to have reached Australian pension age. Paying the fee has the advantage of speeding up the application process, as most visas are granted considerably more quickly than others. There are two categories of visas: temporary and permanent.

    Sponsored Parent Visa (870)

    Temporary visa for all parents

Parents who want to go to and reside in Australia for a period of three to five years should apply for this visa. You might be able to reapply for further subclass 870 visas in particular circumstances, allowing you to stay in Australia for up to ten years. In contrast to other parent visa subclasses, once you have applied for and been granted this visa, you are not eligible to apply for another one, nor can it lead to permanent residency.
